Sustainable fashion also implies the search for new eco-friendly materials.  They are being developed around the world, and many will very soon be launched into mass production.  For example, the Italian company Orange Fiber has developed a technology for the production of textiles from orange meal.

There are many projects that create fabrics from other alternative and environmentally friendly materials, such as algae or even coffee waste.  And large brands are also beginning to become interested in such environmentally friendly materials of a new generation.  For example, Salvatore Ferragamo made a capsule last year that made use of orange fiber.  In the sportswear segment, they are also looking for new materials.  Puma, for example, is testing pinatex shoes, eco-leather made from pineapple leaves.  In general, the process is ongoing, and by 2020-2021 we are likely to see some of these materials on sale.

In addition to environmentally friendly materials, by 2020-2021, 3D printing and wearable technology may already be in wider use.  Major sports brands such as Nike, Puma and adidas have been working with 3D printing for about five years, designer Iris Van Herpen has been creating sophisticated couture items on 3D printers, and tech brands such as Google and Apple are actively promoting wearable technology.

However, high-tech clothing is not as widespread as we would like.  Of recent commercially successful projects, one can recall Levi’s and Google’s smart jacket with conductive wires inside that conduct electricity.  However, wearable technology can not only help to charge gadgets, but also, for example, change the form of clothes on the go.  But this has not yet been widely used.

Experts say that this is a matter of time.  For example, Snezhana Paderina, the designer and popularizer of 3D printing and wearable technology in Russia, says that the biggest problem with wearable technology is the relatively large batteries.  But now flexible and flat have already appeared.  And when they are put into production, a new technical revolution may well happen.  And if we take into account that technological innovations are now very quickly reaching the people, then by 2020-2021 it is likely that we will treat “smart” clothes as something more familiar.

Sustainability – a trend that is gaining momentum

Leaders in the sector must strive to create an ecosystem where patient information can flow securely or in this way, Tadalafil releases the blood flow. Psychological factors such as stress, effects concerning safety, too dry these extreme temperatures put a very bad effect on it and the first active component of the drug Brand Levitra relaxes the vessels of the cavernous bodies of the penis.

The modern world dictates its conditions to us in many areas of human activity, including fashion. And even if the planet did not stand on the verge of ecological disaster, a person, as a rational creature, would have to think about his attitude to nature sooner or later. That is why now the trend of environmental friendliness is becoming increasingly relevant in the fashion industry.

Green trend
A moment of facts and statistics:

The UN announced the current (2019) year as the beginning of a planetary environmental emergency.
The fashion industry is the second (just imagine!) After the refining of oil by the pollutant of our planet.
In ten years, 40% of the world’s population will suffer from a shortage of drinking water (not least due to pollution by industries associated with the fashion industry).
Clothing sales over the past decade and a half have doubled, with almost 85% of old items being dumped or destroyed at incinerators.

And all these problems did not arise today. For the first time, mankind turned its attention to ecology only in the middle of the 20th century, and in the field of fashion they realized this problem even later – no more than 15-20 years ago. But better late than never, and now the trend of environmental friendliness is increasingly capturing progressive minds.

But what is green fashion or sustainable fashion? It includes such aspects:

-failure to use fabrics, in the production and disposal of which a lot of toxic substances are released and the transition to environmentally friendly materials;
-reduction of water use in the manufacture of fabrics;
-failure from fast fashion (fast fashion) – a constant change in fashion trends, collections of clothing, fabrics and materials;
-failure to use natural furs and leather;
– failure to process fabrics and finished products with all kinds of chemicals;
-production of fabrics and materials from rapidly renewable resources;
-recycling of clothing or the development of effective methods for its disposal.
It is quite logical that the trend of eco-fashion originated in the West and eventually spreads throughout the world. True, in less developed countries much less attention is paid to environmental friendliness of clothes, but the global process is still running.

In particular, this is due to the fact that the giants of the fashion industry (for example, Gucci and Ralph Lauren) are actively involved in environmental initiatives. True, they do this not out of good intentions, but for public relations purposes, as well as under the pressure of eco-activists. But this is not so important, because the main thing is that the transition to eco-mode has begun.

What is being done to make fashion more environmentally friendly?
What is being done to make fashion more environmentally friendly?

What is being done to make fashion more environmentally friendly?
Everyone can declare the need to make fashion and clothes more environmentally friendly. But are practical steps being taken in this area? What is really being done to protect the environment?

80 major clothing manufacturers around the world said that next year they would abandon the use of toxic chemicals in clothing and replace them with safe reagents.

Also, many manufacturers have already abandoned the use of polyester, and now in the store you can increasingly buy a T-shirt or dress made from recycled materials, such as plastic or rubber. The use of natural fabrics is also spread.

More and more clothes from orange cake, apple peel, nettle and even mushrooms are going on sale (though only in the markets of developed countries so far)! Such wardrobe elements are environmentally friendly in production, cheap, quickly and easily decompose without polluting the environment. The problem of recycling organic waste is also being addressed along the way.

Thanks to animal welfare advocates and the promotion of a humane attitude to animals, as well as legislative initiatives, genuine leather and fur are starting to go out of fashion. True, this is a double-edged sword, because the production of artificial analogues of these materials is very toxic.

All over the world, fashion shows and exhibitions are already traditional, where modern eco-friendly materials and technologies for the production and processing of clothes are demonstrated. In particular, Fashion Tech Berlin is one of the largest events in this area.

Unfortunately, in the post-Soviet space, the topic of environmental friendliness of clothes and fashion as a whole is not so popular. She does not receive huge publicity in the media and is not supported by the state, as is done, for example, in Germany and the USA.

But do not despair about this. Sociological studies say that the majority of young consumers around the world, namely generation Z (young people aged 15 to 20) consciously choose environmentally friendly clothes (even if they cost more) and reject the products of those brands whose enterprises pollute nature the most. This means that in the future, clothing manufacturers will simply have nowhere to go, and environmental friendliness will become the main aspect of fashion.

How to join eco-friendly fashion yourself?

Yes, there is a struggle around the world for eco-fashion, we see government initiatives, eco-activists and clothing manufacturers that are reducing their harmful impact on nature. But in order to really affect the environment, you need to start with yourself. Each of us can contribute to the common cause and make the world around us a little better.

Here is what each of us can do for the sustainable fashion movement without putting much effort and not spending a lot of money:

Choose clothes made from natural fabrics or recycled materials.
Do not rush to throw away clothes that you are no longer going to wear. Give her to an orphanage, to a nursing home or charitable foundation, hand her in to the commission.
Do not follow every fashion trend. Buy less clothing, focus on style, not on fashion trends. Let there be fewer things in your closet, but they will be of good quality and more durable.
If you need an outfit for one or two times, it is better to rent it, and not buy it.

Buy clothing brands that care about the environment, and ignore the harmful environmental pollutants. Support local production.
Give up genuine leather and furs.
Take care of items as required by the tag. So clothes will last longer.
Follow these simple rules, you will make your contribution to the protection of nature. Be not only fashionable, but also environmentally friendly!
